Mary Summerlin Pujol

Mary Summerlin Pujol passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the age of 95. Mary was born in Sharon, MS on August 7, 1918. She enjoyed her childhood in Canton, MS and moved to New Orleans, LA, where she married Harold Peter Pujol in June 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Harrison and Callie Lillie Cobb Summerlin; her siblings John Harvey Summerlin, Robert Joseph Summerlin, William Daniel Summerlin, Ruth Mae Summerlin Kuepferie, Lillie Elizabeth Summerlin Butcher, Owen Cobb Summerlin, John Earl Summerlin, Woodrow Wilson Summerlin, Louis Harding Summerlin and Edith Grace Summerlin Labarre. She is survived and fondly remembered by her daughters Gail Patricia Pujol, Mary Jean Pujol Sacco (Victor); her son Harold Peter Pujol Jr.; her beloved grandchildren Gena Laborde Mendel (Ricky), Keith A. Laborde (Amy), Emil Laborde Meyer (Stacy), Jarrod S. Laborde (Sharlee), Paul Laborde Pujol (Ashlie), Vicki Ann Sacco Randazzo (Devin) and Victor Leo Sacco (Khrystal). She is also survived by her 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Mary enjoyed a long and rewarding membership with the Crescent City Depression Glass Society and the St. Bernard Parish Business & Professional Women's Club. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her love, kindness and laughter. Relatives and friends attended a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home in Chalmette, LA, on Saturday, February 8, 2014, followed by a Funeral Mass.
