Helen Guttuso Ryckaert Landry passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the age of 78. She was the beloved wife of the late Vernon N. Landry, and by previous marriage, the cherished wife of the late Julian “Skip” Ryckaert. Loving mother of Donna Dusang (A.J.), Dawn Santalucito (Vincent), Chris Ryckaert (Cindy) and Tracie Taylor (Mark). Daughter of the late Anna Helen Schallenberg Guttuso and Vincent Guttuso Sr. Sister of Vincent Guttuso Jr. and the late Martin F. Guttuso. Proud grandmother of Chad Dusang (Crystal), Jeremy Dusang, Logan Ryckaert, Kaitlin Santalucito and Luke Santalucito. Great grandmother of Steven Evans, Bryce Dusang, Evan Dusang, Ethan Dusang and Eliza Dusang. Helen is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and especially her beloved fur-baby, Jellica. Helen was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she enjoyed an active membership as President of NARFE (National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees) Chapter 1398 and the Alzheimer’s committee of St. Bernard. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. Helen will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service in Helen’s memory beginning at 1 p.m. Interment: Private.
