Old Arabi Community Garden hosts Chalmette High Key Club workday

Spring has arrived, and this is evident when you pass by the Old Arabi Community Garden, where the Chalmette High School Key Club recently lent a helping hand. Despite sporadic rain, students gathered early Saturday morning to plant fruit, vegetables, and herbs. Key Club sponsor, Alison Schroeder, believes the experience was fulfi lling for the volunteers in several ways. “Key Club works in many capacities to meet the needs of the community. Being a part of the community garden taught my students to take pride in the beautifi cation of where we live, explained Schroeder; “The students truly enjoyed the hands on opportunity to serve and make a positive community impact.”
