St. Bernard votes Roy onto bench, Gaines off of school board

St. Bernard Parish voters either didn’t buy that Darren Roy is “sleepin’ in Slidell” or they didn’t care.
Roy, an assistant St. Bernard district attorney, defeated attorney Gregory Rome for the 34th Judicial District Court Division D Judge position being vacated by Judge Kirk Vaughn. Roy received 57 percent of the vote (6,166 votes) to Rome’s 43 percent (4,683).
