St. Bernard Parish prepares for ebola

Behind the everyday calm typical of St. Bernard Parish, public health and emergency management officials have started quietly readying for the menace that nobody hopes will knock on our door: Ebola. The parish has joined the growing number of municipalities across the country preparing for a possible outbreak of the deadly flu-like virus from Africa. Concern over Ebola has reached fever pitch in the United States, though there have been only three cases confirmed on American soil—all in Dallas, where a Liberian-American man and two nurses two treated him were diagnosed.
