Slow progress continues on St. Bernard Highway

After two years of work that has stretched months beyond its original estimated completion date, work on St. Bernard Highway rolls on with no end in sight.
The lingering 2.9-mile overlay construction on LA 46 (the highway’s state designation), from Paris Road in Chalmette to Government Street in Arabi, has frequently been a topic of conversation among the St. Bernard Parish Council at its meetings, with council members exasperatedly quizzing Parish President Guy McInnis about the project’s timeline.
