SBPHD Executive Director Drew Heaphy Recognized by City Business Magazine for His Success
Executive Director of the St. Bernard Parish Port, Harbor and Terminal District Drew Heaphy was honored in New Orleans City Business Magazine’s “Power 20” in the maritime and port industry for south Louisiana.
The “Power 20” honor from City Business profiles the 20 most influential professional leaders in the maritime in port industry, “a booming sector amid the area’s growth,” and recognizes individuals’ “commitment to excellence.”
In his section, Heaphy is noted for his long, over 20year tenure at SBPHD and success after taking over as executive director in 2017. Under Heaphy’s leadership, SBPHD acquired the Violet Terminal for the potential development of a container terminal by the Port of New Orleans. Also, according to City Business, Boasso America Corporation consolidated “its headquarters and operations at the port.” Heaphy was also part of the deal that allowed the Associated Terminals of St. Bernard to take over cargo operations at the Arabi Terminal and Industrial Park, “which marked the first time that cargo has been worked along the Mississippi River in St. Bernard.”
