Mississippi senator introduces commercial fishing protection bill

Assistance may finally be on the horizon for Gulf Coast fishermen affected by the influx of fresh water from the Mississippi River.

On July 23 Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi introduced the Commercial Fishing and Aquaculture Protection Act of 2019 to assist commercial fishermen and fish farmers to “mitigate losses associated with market, weather and other natural disasters.”
