Meraux teen stabbed to death five days after Chalmette teen shot to death
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office announced an arrest earlier this week in the parish’s second murder in just six days.
Dexter Mutongerwa, 31, of Tolleson, Ariz., was booked June 22 in the death of Angela Molden, 18, of Meraux.
Mutongerwa was charged with second-degree murder for fatally stabbing Molden on June 21 in Meraux. He was apprehended by Kenner Police in the early morning hours of June 22 after officers responded to a car on the side of I-10 westbound in Kenner. Molden was found in the back seat of the vehicle suffering from multiple stab wounds to her face, neck, torso and hands.
Molden and Mutongerwa, who was bleeding from a laceration to his hand, were both transported to Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner, where Molden was later pronounced dead.
