Meraux Foundation Honored by Arc for Support in St. Bernard
The Arc of Greater New Orleans presented the Meraux Foundation with its annual Board of Directors’ President’s Award at a ceremony this month. It is the most important award that Arc gives out each year, and it is awarded to a person or group that has played a critical role in ensuring Arc continues its mission of empowering people with disabilities with quality supports and compassion.
“This year we would like to recognize the Meraux Foundation for what has been an incredible record of generous and sustained support for the Arc. For nearly 10 years, Arc has been able to depend upon annual gifts from the Meraux Foundation to support our operations in St. Bernard Parish,” said Cathy Brown of Arc. “The Meraux Foundation was instrumental in helping us reestablish our presence in the parish following Katrina. They had an important hand in helping us restore Sterling Hall, and they stepped up when we were looking for ways to save the farm in Chalmette. Words fail to express our gratitude.”
