Elected officials tout progress at inauguration
St. Bernard’s 2020-2023 government is one third of its way to shedding blood, sweat and tears for the parish after tears were shed at the Inaugural Ceremony Jan. 14 at the Sigur Civic Center in Chalmette.
Guy McInnis, St. Bernard’s second two-term president, choked up several times after he was sworn in by Clerk of Court Randy Nunez. The first came as he praised the members of his administration for logging countless hours behind the scenes to make the parish run smoothly.
“When you put in so much time and see the benefits, we need those people there to make it happen,” McInnis said through tears.
