Council approves $16 million in bonds
The St. Bernard Parish Council passed resolutions announcing a pair of multi-million-dollar bond issues at its March 19 meeting which parish administration will said will have no effect on taxpayers.
The council approved a resolution declaring its intention to issue $10 million in bonds to install 10 water crossings under LA 46 and to replace a 3 million gallon water tank at the corner of Palmisano Boulevard and LA 46. The council also approved a resolution for $6 million to connect the River Bend Oxidation Pond to the Munster Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Parish President Guy McInnis said the bonds will result in no additional taxes to residents as the projects are “bonded against current available revenues.”
