Community comes together for special needs children to enjoy Mardi Gras
This year the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi had an amazing opportunity to host a donated float from the Knights of Nemesis Social Club and Parade for 10 children and adults with special needs. They had children from almost every school involved along with the Arc of Chalmette. In just a month’s time, the community rallied together to gather donations of beads, trinkets, stuffed animals and throws. The smile’s on these children’s and adult’s faces that were able to be part of this makes every effort worth it. Thank you to the Knights of Nemesis for the donation of the float, the community of St. Bernard for coming together for this cause, and to the participants who joined.
