Wanda Alcon speaks at Kiwanis Meeting
Following a two-day dreary start to the Spring Break holiday, Pearsall youth flocked to the newly renovated Polo Patino Park on Wednesday, March 13 to enjoy the splash pad. Along with the school-aged children playing on the playgrounds, shooting hoops, and enjoying the skate park, adults were having picnics and enjoying the new barbecue areas.The speaker at the February 26 meeting of the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard was Wanda Alcon, St. Bernard Councilwoman District D. Ms. Alcon is a life-long resident of St. Bernard Parish. Working in many job’s in parish government from clerking for Judges to Tourism and now helping to Build Parks-Playgrounds in her position. Ms. Alcon said “Let’s Make St. Bernard Parish Better.” Elected in 2015, Ms. Alcorn was chosen Legislator of the Year in 2017 and 2018. Kiwanis wishes Wanda the best with our New Playground around the parish, we all know the Kids are the Future. Ms. Alcon spoke on many topics most importantly the Port of New Orleans expansion to the Meraux Pasture. There are many concerns on this topic.
