Public Service Commissioner Eric Skrmetta speaks at April 2 meeting
Public Service Commissioner Eric Skrmetta (First District) addressed the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard- Arabi at their weekly meeting at Rocky & Carlo’s on Tuesday, April 2. Skrmetta touched on the drop in residential customers’ power bills stemming from the 2018 retirement of the Katrina-Rita bonds that had been issued to restore Entergy’s electricity distribution system after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita pounded south Louisiana and wrecked power infrastructure in 2005. Skrmetta also discussed the construction of new power plants and utility rate stabilization and its role in Louisianans having one of the lowest power bills in the country.
