Calling It Home

Mardi Gras has taken its toll of everyone’s attention with the parades and parties. Friday night, I attended the parades on St. Charles Avenue what a crowd of parade goers. Imagine how many throws must been thrown for each person to catch several items, millions in one night.›

Bacchus Parade was Sunday night’s big crowd pleaser. Even with the cold front that blew in, the crowds warmed up with excitement. The Bacchus Extravaganza party at the Convention Center was as big as ever. Can you imagine the parade running through a building with circular route. In fact the King‘s float did several laps as to insure all attending saw his majesty. It was a formal affair and everyone looked splendid in the ball gowns and black tie. It was pleasant to meet fellow St Bernard residents at the table next to us. I was able to say hello to Congressman Steve Scalise, who actually rode a float in the parade. The evening was fun but getting home well past 2:30 am was a little too late.››
