Virginia Maggio Greco was called Home by the Father on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the age of 92. She was born in New Orleans, later a resident of Arabi, LA for 50 years and then later moved to St Tammany after Hurricane Katrina. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Sarah Maggio, her beloved husband, Matthew (Matt) Greco, brother (Joseph Maggio) and sisters (Catherine Maggio Surgi and Rita Maggio Misuraca). She is survived by her children, Dominick (Nick) Greco (Susan), Andrew Greco (Sylvia) and Antoinette (Toni) Greco Twiggs, as well as seven grandchildren (Glen, Kelly, Lisa, Stacie, Brian, Amy and Adam) and fourteen great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by them, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a devout Catholic and very active in the Catholic Church for many years in various ministries where she visited those in nursing homes and the home-bound. She was Treasurer in the Legion of Mary. In 1998, she was awarded tho Order of St. Louis IX Medallion which honors those members of the laity who have contributed their time and talents to the Catholic Church. Relatives and friends were invited to attend the visitation at St. Anselm Catholic Church, on Thursday, March 20, 2014, it was followed by the Funeral Mass. Interment was later that day at St. Louis Cemetery #3. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Mass be said in memory of Mrs. Greco.
