A Time of Love and Friendship

Body
We are now in what should be a holy season for many throughout planet Earth. As Christians, we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Within the same time period, Hanukkah is a Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and the Second Temple. The timeline of the recovery was around the 2nd century BCE, almost 2,200 years ago. Both religions go back to a time and culture twenty centuries long ago. A slightly younger religion Islam has its holy days more throughout the year with two major celebrations Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. It is hard to judge over this amount of time centuries, who owned what and who should presently own the questioned territory, the Holy Land. If we are to follow any of the teachings of religion, it is time for us to find peace in this turbulent region. It would take a small book to go back and forth with the history of this important region. All I know is, we are in the present and it is time for peace and humanity’s traits of goodness and kindness to prevail.
