The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested three men and a woman on various narcotics charges following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Local artists and non-profit organizations in St. Bernard Parish seeking to conduct an art project in the parish will have the opportunity to receive funding for that project through the Louisiana Project Grant Program (LPG). According to a May 24 Facebook post from the St. Bernard Parish Government (SBPG), LGP is accepting applications for the program through June 30. The grant period will begin on October 1, 2023 and end on September 30, 2024.

The entry period is open for the eighth annual Startup St. Bernard competition, presented by the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation. Startup St. Bernard seeks out dedicated, enthusiastic entrepreneurs who want to grow their business to the next level. Entrepreneurs are invited to apply for the opportunity to pitch their business to a panel of judges. The entry period closes at 12 p.m. CT on June 9, 2023.

St. Bernard Parish native and resident Eugene Campbell recently took a trip up to New York to represent his local organization, the Irene Campbell Foundation, at the Jr. NBA Convention. Held on May 3, the convention gave Campbell the chance to speak on how his foundation—based out of Violet, Louisiana—supports children in St. Bernard Parish with athletics and their lives in general.
