Meraux Foundation Strategy Improving Livability and Coastal Restoration in St. Bernard The Meraux Foundation, a family foundation committed to improving the quality of life in St. Bernard Parish, celebrates the start of construction on the Chenier Nature Park and Trail. This transformative project, made possible by the Meraux Foundation's donation of 45 acres of land, marks a significant step in its broader strategy of place-based development and coastal restoration for the area around the 40 Arpent in Chalmette. The Chenier Nature Park and Trail will foster recreation, eco-tourism, and livability while supporting coastal resilience in St. Bernard Parish.

St. Bernard Prepares for a Packed 2023 Gubernatorial Election

St. Bernard Parish is just a few weeks away from entering an incredibly busy election season. The fall 2023 general election—which is scheduled for October 14—will feature races for numerous state offices and nearly every local office. In total, parish residents will have the opportunity to vote for 24 separate government positions, ranging from Louisiana Governor to Constable.

Vets Invited to Partake in Annual Bell Ringing Ceremony on July 3

The St. Bernard Business and Professional Women’s Club cordially invites all Veterans of all areas of the armed services of the United States, to their annual ringing of the Bell Ceremony as St. Bernard Parish Salutes America. This event will take place at the site of the Liberty Bell in front of the Frederick Sigur Civic Center on Monday, July 3 at 4:45 p.m. All are welcome as we show appreciation of all veterans for their selfless sacrifice for our freedom and Independence of this great country.

Louisiana Festival Queens Tour the Parish

A delegation of queens from across the great State of Louisiana toured St. Bernard Parish on June 10. Festival Queens from Louisiana visited the Louisiana Crawfish Pageant which was held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor School. St. Bernard Parish Tourism and Film Executive Director Katie Tommaseo led the tour with Parish Historian William Hyland.
