School Board Approves Revisions to 2023-2024 Revenues and Expenditures

Body
The St. Bernard Parish School Board unanimously approved a revision to their projected 2023-2024 school year general fund and special revenue fund budgets at their November 28 board meeting. Originally, the school board’s budget was adopted in June. As with any other government agency when adopting a budget, the amount of listed revenues and expenditures for the upcoming year are estimates based on information available to the school board. When new developments affect the school board finances, the board must adjust their budget to match the new situation and in this case there were both increases and decreases in various budget line items. On the whole, the school board increased their expected revenues by $2.8 million while also increasing their expected expenditures by $4.3 million.
